However, I am happy to report that there are still rural one-and-two-room schools in the Nebraska Sandhills and Montana. I promise that wherever little rural schools still exist, the kids are still passing down the old playground games.Genevieve Netzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08004780820713448880noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20637018.post-27707288372357676412008-02-25T23:24:00.000-06:002008-02-25T23:24:00.000-06:00Your post certainly brought back memories! Not necessarily because of the recess activity, but it reminded me of my own experience in what had to be one of the last TWO-room school houses in the heartland. K-2 shared a teacher on one half of our small Iowa schoolhouse and Grades 3-6 were taught by a second teacher on the other side of the building. I literally watched man land on the moon via TV a two-room schoolhouse! And recess? As a third grade girl, I wasn't too crazy about getting plowed over by the rough and tumble sixth grade boys during our games of Capture The Flag ... but somehow I survived no worse for wear!Brendahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16284140554445462441noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20637018.post-56313643142969095392008-02-25T12:14:00.000-06:002008-02-25T12:14:00.000-06:00It does sound like fun!
