Local readers who follow Nashville television news have been seeing video of the devastating flood there. For readers outside the Nashville area, here are links to a few of the photographs that have been uploaded to Flickr by Nashville residents:

Many schools in Tennessee are closed tomorrow due to flooding, including Montgomery County (Clarksville), our neighbor just across the state line south of here. School closings are merely a slight inconvenience, compared to the muddy mess that some people are facing in their homes and workplaces.

Thankfully we live on relatively high ground and had no water damage this weekend. I also made it into work this morning in downtown Nashville with no problem, although I've never seen the Cumberland River so far beyond its banks. I brought my camera to work and plan to take some pix later of the downtown flooding and the river as it nears its peak.
OH the poor little cows!
Runaway, I'm glad that your house sits high enough that it wasn't flooded. I saw your photos of downtown Nashville on Facebook. It's very sad to see so much under water -- and I know that pictures don't even begin to tell the story of the suffering man and beast are enduring there.
Gayle, I feel so sorry for those cows. But at least they weren't washed downstream.
