Can You Identify This Artist?

Unknown Western singer and guitarist

I found this photo in an old book that I purchased. I'm curious to know if anyone can identify this man. It seems likely that his genre was western music, perhaps during the 1940s or 1950s.

I'm pretty sure that this is Tex Ritter.

Thanks for your input, Susan! Tex Ritter does definitely fit the MO of "singing cowboy."
