Early February

We've hardly had any winter weather this year. With temperatures in the 50s or higher every day, the daffodils have been blooming for a couple of weeks.

Now, we're getting a reminder that it's still February. Tonight, the temperature will fall to around 13°F, and the high on Saturday will be about 27°F -- a whole day below the freezing point. Then, on Monday night, we may get some ice and/or snow. I would prefer snow.

I would like a snow day off from school in this goofed up winter.

If it gets bad, I hope it gets bad enough that I can stay home from work. (I say that knowing full well that I will get in my car and go to work, even if the roads are a sheet of ice.)

I am holding my breath because it's been so nice this winter....and I have not forgotten that horrible ice storm we lived thru that happened in February a few years back. That was the coldest I have ever been, and that was the longest I have ever been without lights. If that happens again, I am going to be tempted to start walking south and not stop until I hit Florida! :)

Well, we dodged the last one successfully, and hopefully, there won't be another one this winter!
