Progress

All In The Family...

Dennis was moved today from ICU to Medical-Surgical. He still has most of his paraphernalia attached to him, but he did leave behind the automatic blood pressure cuff and the sensors that had been attached to his chest.

Tomorrow, they will start having him sit up a little, first on the edge of the bed and then on a chair. His ribs are really sore, so that won't be much fun for him.

I came home for a couple of hours in the afternoon and they moved him during that time. When Isaac and I came back, Dennis was in the new room and had already had three visitors and a phone call. He was tired from the move and the conversation, so we left at about 7:00 p.m. so he could sleep.

I wish that driver could be found so he/she could see the damage inflicted to your husband!

I am glad that he is out of ICU.

Sarabeth, I am so irritated with the local daily newspaper about it. I called them on Thursday (the day it happened) and asked if they would write a news item about it. I thought if people read about it in the newspaper, maybe someone would remember seeing something odd. A small news item was finally in the newspaper today, Monday, on one of the interior pages. If anyone did see anything, they've forgotten it by now.

The hospital cashier gave me a statement of the charges so far as of about 10:00 a.m. today -- about $14,500. Thank goodness we have insurance.
