All In The Family...
School began today in Christian County, KY, but I'm afraid Isaac isn't going to have a very good first day. I heard on the radio this morning that the Hopkinsville High School air conditioning system is not working. It failed Monday, and they don't have it working yet.
The radio said something about trying to get a "stopgap cooler." Is there actually something called a "cooler" or do they mean they're going to put in a temporary air conditioner of some sort?
The weather forecast predicts temperatures in the low 90's for today and the rest of the week. I can't say that the students and staff at HHS will be suffering because too many people in the world are truly suffering today. I will say that it's going to be a test of everyone's anti-perspirant.
I will keep the radio on so I can hear whether school will be dismissed early.

UPDATE:
Isaac says it was hot but not really unbearable in most of his classes. He thinks the air conditioning was still working in the music building because it was fairly cool there.

This seems very early to begin school. Our district always starts right around labor day.
It is terribly early. Gosh, we didn't go back to school until after Labor Day back in the good old days. They are trying to have year-round school without saying that's what it is.
